Towed from your apartment? The authorization audit
Apartment tows fail on paperwork more than on parking. Who signed for your tow, what the signage said, and the two questions that void a tow.
An apartment tow is a private-property tow, and private-property tows live or die on authorization. Before a tower may take your car, the law in most rule-writing states wants three things: a property owner or manager who authorized the removal in writing, signage at the entrances that meets the statute, and a vehicle that is actually in violation of a posted rule.
That gives you an audit, and the audit is the guide: Who signed for your tow? Not a security guard, not another resident, not the towing company on its own patrol — the owner or manager, in writing. What did the signage say? Photograph every entrance sign: company name, phone number, the rules themselves. A sign that fails the statute can void the tow. Was your car actually in violation of a posted rule — or of a rule that exists only in the office?
Run the audit before you dispute and the dispute writes itself. The Tow Bill Kit carries the full authorization audit with the document requests that produce the log.
Start with the verdict: run the checker with your state and your numbers.
